Services for Organizations

The Light House is committed to educating and supporting the community in a variety of ways. 
Our staff will create a tailor made plan for your workplace, school, church or organization.

Suzylynne Williams, founder of The Light House spent almost 10 years as a Social Worker in the Connecticut Public Schools.  Passionate about supporting students, staff, and parents, Suzylynne was chosen as Teacher of the Year  in 2020.  Suzylynne and her staff now bring that same passion and experience by offering these services to support schools.

Professional Development

The Light House will provide trained, school certified staff to present to school staff on relevant topics. Our staff will create a tailored plan for your school that includes professional development tailored to the needs of your school staff. The Light House will support staff in social-emotional learning, school climate, restorative justice practices, running circles or running groups that may satisfy IEP requirements.

Social Work Service Delivery

The Light House will provide trained staff to come into your school to deliver social work services such as group work, individual counseling, interventions for mean-spirited or bullying behaviors, conflict resolution, and community building events. The Light House will put together a program to deliver services specific to the needs of your school.

Parent Seminars

The Light House will provide trained staff to deliver one time or ongoing presentations to parents for the purpose of educating parents on relevent topics. Previous parent seminars have included topics such as parenting youth experiencing a variety of mental health obstacles, suicide awareness, dangers of vaping, education around addiction, parenting LGBTQ+ youth, and supporting children with a variety of learning challenges. Staff can tailor the presentation to the needs of your school community

 

The Light House employs pastoral counselors and licenced clinicians with a biblical background. The staff is passionate about using their clinical, evidence-based practices and their biblical knowledge to support the mission of the Church. 

Seminars

The Light House will send a team of professionals to your church to train on relevant mental health topics, strategies for working with individuals with disabilities, psychoeducation around LGBTQ+ issues, intersection of faith and mental health, among many other topics.

Parent Support

The Light House will provide one-time or ongoing parent groups to support chrisitan parents in relation to culturally relevant topics.  Our staff support and educate christian parents on topics such as mental health chalelnges in the home, navigating social media, and raising children in the LGBTQ+ community.

Other topics have included biblical sexuality and gender, devleopmentally appropriate discipline, and parenting children during a pandemic.

With many years of experience delivering psychoeducation in relation to diversity, team-building, staff culture and mental health topics, The Light House staff is experienced and well-equiped to support to any workplaces and organizations. 

Seminars

We will tailor a full or half-day seminar to meet your organization’s needs.
