Have you ever heard the expression?
I’ve never actually seen a bird with a Happy Meal, but I have definitely seen some gleeful gulls with a bag of chips. They go after the things they want! When I was pregnant, I was sitting on a beach blanket literally lifting a sandwich to my mouth and they swiped in and snatched it away. My poor hungry baby and my poor empty belly!
Back to the expression. Did you notice the words, “Today I will be”? One of the keys to feeling good is managing our minds. Are we fearing the future? Ruminating on the past? Peace lives in today. It’s found in focusing on what is here and now knowing that good lies ahead. Each day we have a choice in how we will live. We can choose to shift our focus to the present and decide to notice what is beautiful, excellent, and praise-worthy around us and in us. We can live in light.
Like the gulls, you can be persistent in your pursuit of emotional health. You can be mindful of the good in today and dwell in it. Eating a french fry wouldn’t hurt either. 😉
