Nostalgia can keep you warmer? Say What?!

Step one foot outside and you’ll feel the freezing cold temperature today…or will you? Some research suggests that how we experience cold can be mitigated by feeling nostalgic. In five individual studies, researchers from the University of Southampton noted that feelings of nostalgia serve a homeostatic function. In discussing the findings, co-author of the study Dr. Tim Wildschut states there is evidence that recalling a wonderful memory can help a person feel warmer and increase their tolerance of cold.
